THURSDAY 3 FEBRUARY

We are already missing day 4 of #IVW22, but it’s ok because we still have the whole weekend to go.

Idles produced a set worthy of their historic sold out three-night residency at Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow last night. The energy and love in the room was something else, and it was obvious how precious this band has become to the UK independent music scene. A really immense show.

In Cardiff, our Welsh ambassador Mace The Great made his hometown proud with a huge show at Clwb Ifor Bach. What a moment for this outstanding artist and city, and what a moment for #IVW22.

Across the country, Pom Poko brought their Norwegian post-punk to Norwich Arts Centre for a suitably wild gig. Ones to watch for sure when they are over in the UK, and those in the crowd last night will be feeling pretty chuffed they got to see it.

As we head into the weekend, the gigs just keep on coming…

The BBC 6 Music tour with Steve Lamacq concludes in St Albans for what will be a special show with Bess Atwell at the Horn. Dele Sosimi heads to Drapers Hall in Coventry and Jane Weaver will be gracing Margate at Elsewhere. We are all in for another treat of a night.
