How brilliant was that.
We want to thank everyone who came along to the first ever #IndependentsDay19 in partnership with HARMAN and made it so special. Big thanks to HARMAN for showing off their kit and taking the time to talk to everyone who was interested. If you’re keen on accessing their kit with the Arts Council England Supporting Grassroots Live Music fund now available for venues, you can contact charlie@independentvenueweek.com for more information.
After #IVW19, the IVW team went around the UK and met with as many of our venues and promoters as we could, and the biggest bit of feedback we got was that our participating venues wanted to meet up with other venues, promoters, and partners. Safe to say that was achieved. Venues and IVW stakeholders from all over the UK met and spoke about the week itself and formed connections that can be used throughout the year, building a supportive network in the industry.
An extra special thanks to our 28 panellists who spoke brilliantly on a wide range of subjects, we all learnt a lot and have food for thought for the future.
In addition to talking about #IVW20, we also spoke about our other plans for the year.
To start, we very excitedly put a date to IVW’s 2020 launch event, Thursday 14th November, which will be taking place in London right where we were at 229 The Venue. We are encouraging other venues across the UK to use the date for their own announcement and put on a gig on to celebrate with us using #IVW20. It’ll be a great way to announce your plans for the week in January and to get everyone excited. We’d love to get together a series of photos of the gigs across the UK on this date and see how everyone’s celebrating the spirit of independence.
There is a lot more to come with our #IVW20 plans, and we’ll keep you all updated.
The biggest thanks to DARREN RUSSELL for all of the photos of the day.
