Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, OR is returning to Independent Venue Week for the second year in a row after an excellent show with Jeremy Enigk in 2018. The venue was opened in 2004 in Portland’s Lower Burnside neighborhood and has had a big impact on the local music scene ever since. This state-of-the-art venue, which was named one of the top clubs in the country by Rolling Stone in 2013, hosts concerts at least 28 days a month while its upstairs restaurant is open seven days a week.
Internationally renowned architect Jeff Kovel completed the design. The interior recalls a “Twin Peaks meets The Jetsons” urban ski lodge, with outside walls clad in logs and an interior beautifully overlaid with textured woodwork and glass. Doug Fir Lounge serves as an aesthetic tribute to the history of the area.
Whether it’s the hottest new artists or more established bands, Doug Fir is the place in Portland to see great performers in an intimate setting, making for memorable experiences. The venue’s eclectic booking is sure to cater to all musical tastes.
Notable acts that have graced Doug Fir’s stage include Sleater-Kinney, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Sigrid, King Princess, Alabama Shakes, M83, Cold War Kids, Cake, The Shins, and many more.
