The Rebel Lounge in Phoenix, Arizona was first known as the Mason Jar and founded in 1979 where it established itself as a major player in the scene. It housed some of the best rock bands in the game including Green Day, Guns ‘N’ Roses, and Nirvana.
After a revamp in the 2000s, the club began to book an even more varying roster of distinguished bands. It became the Rebel Lounge in 2015 after it was taken over by Stephen Chilton of Pysko Steve Presents. The venue’s popularity and community spirit remain intact years later with an all-inclusive vibe hosting regularly open mic nights, live podcasts, fundraising events, and sourcing artwork for shows from local artists.
The venue has hosted a bunch of notable events such as the Jimmy Eat World’s 25th anniversary show in 2019 and a show for the Agnostic Front 35th anniversary tour in 2018. The long list of outstanding artists has played the venue include Girl Pool, Mona, Beach Slang, Porsches, Frankie Cosmos, Chronic Future and many more.
