The Fulford Arms [York]

At the heart of The Fulford Arms is a desire to help support the local music scene as well as to bring national talent to York and provide a community centre to help inspire and drive local arts and culture. Being an Independent venue has its struggles but the venue owners have had the freedom to make changes to the venue to help improve both production quality and support a variety of performances. Since taking over the Fulford Arms in January 2014, Chris Sherrington and Chris Tuke have transformed the pub into one of the top national music and arts venues with over 260 gigs each year and helping in artist development.

ACCESSIBILITY:

The Fulford Arms welcomes deaf and disabled customers to their venue. Contact Details: Chris Sherrington, thefulfordarms@gmail.com, 01904 620410/ 07429 529626.
On gig days, customers use the rear entrance, which has 3 steps up. If you require level access to the venue, please let us know in advance where possible, and a member of staff can meet you at the front door with the temporary ramp. Or if you ring the mobile number above on the day, we can arrange this. If you require a Personal Assistant ticket in order to attend the show, please email us to arrange this. If you require a seat or space for a wheelchair, please let us know in advance, and we can arrange this for you. If you require an accessible parking space, please let us know and we can rope one off for you.
Taxis tend to drop off right at the front of the venue. There is also a bus stop within 100m, that offers regular buses into town. York train station is 1.4 miles away. The venue and beer garden is open for general service Saturday and Sunday 1pm-10pm, plus any evening we have a show listed. Doors are usually 7.30pm unless otherwise specified. There is one ambulant toilet in both the ladies and gents toilets with grab rails. Unfortunately, we do not have an accessible toilet. The police station next door (200m away) has an accessible toilet but we believe it closes at 9pm.
We welcome customers who need to bring food, drink, medicine or medical equipment with them to manage a medical condition. If you require your medication to be stored in a fridge, please let us know and we can store this for you. We heartily welcome assistance dogs to the venue and even put out water for them. (Dogs are always welcome in the beer garden!).
We occasionally use strobe lighting, and this will be sign-posted on the entrance to the venue on the night. If you have any concerns, please get in touch before attending a show. As we do not have a lowered area at our bar, our staff are happy to take orders for drinks from your table if required. We also have an app for ordering from our beer garden with a collection area, staff are happy to bring drinks to your table if required.
Our toilets are gender neutral, please use whichever facilities you are most comfortable with.
Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated, if you require assistance please speak to our bar staff who will be more than happy to help.
