Boiler Shop was constructed in the 1820s for the world’s first locomotive works, Robert Stephenson & Company. Crucible of the Industrial Revolution, rich in engineering history and architectural interest, it is Grade II* Listed. In 2016, owner-custodians, Clouston Group, completed a major restoration and enhancement programme, introducing state of the art facilities to create an exceptional, dynamic space. Since its inception, Boiler Shop hosted a rich programme of live and club events, including in-house promotions featuring acts such as Jon Hopkins, Mavis Staples, Aurora, Sparks, Parquet Courts, Primal Scream, Roisin Murphy and many more.
