The Polar Bear

A unique venue set within the surroundings of a traditional boozer The Polar Bear also boasts a sizeable outside space comprising a large seated area with room for outdoor live performances.

The Polar Bear founded in the 1840’s and residing at its current location since 1860, with a rebuild in 1895 and modifications made in 1911 and 1922 with further work to come in 2019. The Polar Bear lives on as a hub for Hull’s creative types with the weekly SESH operating every Tuesday providing a platform for local and national unsigned acts. Monthly nights such as FREAKSCENE bring together some of Hulls most talented musicians forming super-groups for specially curated nights paying homage to legendary acts and on occasion taking on entire decades of music.
