The Honey Farm

3 February at 8:00 pm

The Honey Farm + Queen of Harps The Honey Farm ‘Dunbar’s The Honey Farm identify as “potentially the first and by default greatest Scottish female rap group,” but they have no interest in being pinned by promoters for purely tokenistic reasons. There’s much about their sound which is subversive: their highly contrasting vocal styles, their boogie-inspired instrumentals and their focus on love, sex, femininity and LGBT empowerment.’ THE SKINNY ‘If there is such a thing as musical reincarnation, then San Francisco’s feminist rap trio, The Yeastie Girlz (best known for the early 90s track You Suck), appear to have come back as three women from Dunbar performing as The Honey Farm.’ THE SCOTSMAN Queen of Harps ‘Queen of Harps is a Scottish / Malaysian-Chinese Rapper, Harpist, blending poetic flow, spoken word, bars and harp compositions to claim the title ‘hip-hop-harp’. Inspiration is drawn from early Hip-Hop, but she collaborates with producers across all genres, from Jungle to Drill. Her innovative sound harnesses an upbringing influenced by punk and hippie culture, elements of oriental infusion and her very own harp samples. Queen of Harps’ debut single “Situation” garnered attention from Scotland’s BBC Introducing in early 2022, which was followed by a year of performances at various venues and festivals such as The Jazz Bar, Kelburn Garden Parties and a headline show with AMPLIFI at The Queens Hall. With the upcoming release of her debut EP and new tracks in the works, 2023 promiseS to be an exciting year for the rapper.’ DOORS : 8PM OVER 18’s ONLY
