***** ‘ A POWERFUL, HEARTENING PORTRAIT OF SINEAD O’CONNOR’ – The Telegraph Art’s Cool and Wherelse? proudly present a screening of the 2x BIFA winning documentary Nothing Compares by Margate based film director Kathryn Ferguson. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A between the film’s director and broadcaster/writer Emma Dabiri and live music performance from irish feminist post-punk band M(h)aol. Nothing Compares is the story of Sinéad O’Connor’s phenomenal rise to worldwide fame and how her iconoclastic personality resulted in her exile from the pop mainstream. Focusing on her prophetic words and deeds from 1987-1993, the film reflects on the legacy of this fearless trailblazer through a contemporary feminist lens. — The film screening and Q+A will take place on Whereelse?’s ground floor space with a mix of seating and standing spaces available. Live music and performance will take place downstairs in the venue’s live room. Toilets are located down a flight of stairs without step free access.
