Another unforgettable day of #IVW24….
The BBC 6 Music tour bus parked up in Edinburgh to see 86TVs blow the roof off Whistle Pinkies with their new EP “You Don’t Have To Be Yourself Right Now”. You can listen back to Huw Stephens’ broadcast from the venue as well as Steve Lamacq’s yesterday in Belfast on the BBC Sounds app.
It was also a notable night for established artists playing some intimate independent venue shows such as legend David Gray performing his iconic “A Century Ends” show at Omeara in London, and Buckcherry playing the Garage in Glasgow.
There was also an eclectic mix of genres with Sela Bar in Leeds hosting their “Jazz Joint”, Kaspar Hauser’s experimental folk in London at Morocco Bound and Irish Mellow’s jazz, grunge and grime fusion at Mr Wolfs in Bristol.
It wasn’t just all about live music last night either: Komedia hosted a heat of the New Comedy Awards in Brighton, whilst Pound Arts Centre screened Talking Heads’ “Stop Making Sense” documentary in Corsham.
Where are you off to tonight? Head to our SHOWS page if you haven’t made up your mind yet, there is so much on offer at over 200 independent venues around the UK.
