A perfect day to end a perfect week…
We couldn’t have asked for a better 7 days celebrating independent venues all over the UK. We hope you have enjoyed it as much as us!
#IVW23 Welsh ambassadors Adwaith brought a triumphant homecoming set to a packed CWRW in Carmarthen and proved why they are worthy two-time winners of the Welsh Music Prize. They head out to SXSW soon and will no doubt go down as well over the pond as they do here. Pob lwc guys and thank you for flying the flag for Welsh independent venues this year!
In Hebden Bridge, Billie Marten played the final #IVW23 show in collaboration with BBC Introducing; it was an intimate set as beautiful as the venue itself, and will long be a special night for everyone there. Slow Readers Club went for a similar vibe at the Met in Bury, producing a unique set for the lucky group in attendance that managed to get tickets.
As the week drew to a close, many concluded their #IVW23 tours around the country including Plastic Mermaids who played a memorable set that has then hotly tipped for the coming year. Make sure you see them in a small cap room whilst you still can!
It has been an unforgettable week of live music in 308 independent venues around the UK, with over 600 gigs having taken place! What’s been your highlight of #IVW23?
