The weekend has started early for #IWV23…

The UK’s incredible independent venues delivered once again, as they do every day of the year last night.

Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6 Music tour for Independent Venue Week headed North to Stockton for its penultimate night. They were treated to a blinding set by Dublin’s The Murder Capital at Ku that will certainly be a lasting memory for both Steve and the town, who were treated further by #IVW23 ambassador Philip Selway playing just around the corner at the Georgian Theatre. What a night for Stockton!

Nuha Ruby Ra brought their usual captivating set to the Louisiana in Bristol for BBC Introducing, supported by our very own Big Jeff with his band, The Outlines. An unforgettable night for us and IVW23! More memories were made with BBC Introducing as local heroes the Mysterines blew the roof off the Future Yard in Birkenhead to a raucous crowd of fans, family and friends.

The beautiful Mill Hill Chapel in Leeds, a new IVW venue hosted Clean Cut Kid & Jemima Coulter for an intimate night whilst the Tin in Coventry welcomed Amber Arcades with Hater and Thala for Fire Records.

An amazingly unique array of live music all over the UK last night, which is what independent venues are all about. There really is something for everyone!
