US VENUE SPOTLIGHT – Wichita, KS – Wave

Wave opened in August 2018 making it one of the youngest venues to take part in Independent Venue Week this year. Located in Downtown Wichita this new venue brings vibrancy and diversity to the city’s live scene. Wave is Wichita’s first open-air venue and in its first six months, it has already housed artists such as George Clinton, Toadies, Martin Sexton, and many more.

The venue has more than just one string to its bow when it comes to using its space: Along with the outdoor live area, there is an indoor bar with a neighborhood feel meaning audiences get the best of both worlds during their visit. The venue is a community-builder that hosts an array of smaller events such as trivia nights, movie screenings, and jam sessions that bring local musicians together every week. Simply kicking back and relaxing is also encouraged by Wave with their comfortable outdoor lounge area.

The venue allows for audiences of 500 to 3,300 people in their live facilities and boasts an atmosphere that sets it apart from any other space in the area. The outdoor and indoor elements make for great experiences—no matter the season.

Independent Venue Week is very excited to welcome this outstanding new venue to our 2019 lineup.
