US VENUE SPOTLIGHT – Pittsburgh, PA – Mr. Smalls Theatre

Today, we look to Pittsburgh and the historic Mr. Smalls Theatre. This beautifully repurposed 18th century Catholic church is a truly unique space for live music. With local and national artists performing all year round, it is no wonder that this stunning setting has earned a reputation as Pittsburgh’s premier music venue.

Mr. Smalls is much more than just their 800-cap main concert space; the venue buildings also host a cozy club scene (The Funhouse), a recording studio, a number of full bars, a restaurant, a coffee shop, and even a used-instrument swap-shop.

Furthermore, Mr. Smalls has a long history of dedication to philanthropic endeavors and its non-profit program, Creative.Life.Support, is responsible for a wide-range of services centered around learning, artist career development, and professional opportunities for Pittsburgh area youth.

As they manage to serve to their community all while hosting artists such as Muse, Snoop Dogg, Smashing Pumpkins, and Arctic Monkeys (to name a few!), Mr. Smalls is another perfect example of the unique and undeniable value that independent venues bring to the local areas they reside in.

Mr. Smalls has not only carved a niche as the best venue of its size in Pittsburgh, but is one of the finest independent venues in the country. We are stoked that Opus One Productions and WYEP will present The Lone Bellow at Mr. Smalls as part of Independent Venue Week. Find tickets HERE.
