New Date for #VenueTShirtDay Announced

We’re excited to announce the new date for

#VenueTShirtDay

which will be Friday 30th August.

Launched as a way to mark the official venue sign-up opening for #IVW25, the new initiative, which was due to run on Friday 9th August, was postponed due to the riots earlier this month around the country. With a new date now confirmed, #VenueTShirtDay gives everyone a really great chance to get involved by supporting their nearest or dearest venue and share their stories about these brilliant cultural spaces.

Venue teams, artists, the industry and fans are all encouraged to show their love by wearing a venue T-shirt and share photos online using #VenueTShirtDay.

Commenting on the new initiative, IVW Founder and CEO Sybil Bell said:

Every year, we look at new ways to shine a spotlight on these brilliant cultural spaces. #VenueTShirtDay is a great opportunity to get everyone involved so they can tell their own stories of brilliant nights out that create amazing memories.

With summer festival season drawing to a close, venues can really see a drop off from gig goers over the summer so this is a great chance to remind people just how important it is to keep going to gigs and supporting the places that support the live music ecosystem, all year round.

It is, after all, these venues where the festival artists and crew all start out. So, we’re asking everyone to show some love this Friday, either on holiday, at the office or working from home, by wearing a venue T-shirt to help celebrate these spaces. If you don’t have a T-shirt, please go and buy one and if you’re on holiday, pop down and visit a venue you’ve never been to before, see a show and grab some merch. It’s all about letting a venue know how much you appreciate what they do.”

IVW is the long-running 7-day celebration of independent music and arts venues and the people that own, run and work in them.

The event will return in 2025 for its 12th edition between Monday 27th January and Sunday 2nd February, with hundreds of venues expected to take part up and down the UK, encouraging fans to come out in the depths of winter, show support for their local scene, and enjoy a live gig or show.
